Welcome Back to the Tomb!
After our game, Secrets of the Lost Tomb, was successfully funded back in January, our fans and supporters began to ask if we were going to make the miniatures for the game. At the time, we thought we would have the money, as we has doubled our funding goal and had made nearly $112,000. but things didn’t turn out the way we had hoped.
For those of you who don’t know about the game, here’s a quick introduction. Secrets of the Lost Tomb is a pulp action adventure cooperative board game for where 1-6 players assume the roles of Adventurers who are all a part of the Eternal Order of Perseus, a Secret Society devoted to keeping the Lost Tomb secret and to shield Humanity from the supernatural powers of The Tomb—an ancient vault filled with aeons-old powers struggling to be set free upon the world.
The Realities of Kickstarter Funding
Within days of the kickstarter ending, we realized that it would probably take every penny we had to get Secrets of the Lost Tomb to the stores. Not to worry. We had committed to doing whatever it took to get Secrets of the Lost Tomb done. We soon discovered that we would not have the funds to do even a single miniature. The cost to create the mold alone for a single mini was about $500. To do justice to what we wanted to do, it became clear to us that another campaign was in order.
But When To Do Another Kickstarter?
We wanted to let some time go by. We also wanted to have Secrets of the Lost Tomb at the printers, or at least as close as possible to sending the final copy off to them. That time is now, and Summer is the best time to launch a new game, studies have shown. It’s taken months to go from initial sketches of each character to full blown prototypes, but that effort has been worth it. Let’s take a look at the miniatures, shall we?
How many Miniatures Are There in Secrets of the Lost Tomb?
There are roughly 100 miniatures for Secrets of the Lost Tomb, more than many successful games already on the market. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect when you purchase Secrets of the Lost Tomb:
This campaign introduces 26 NEW Highly Detailed Sculptures by 3D Character Artist: Vitaliy Burov. Bringing the Grand Total, including anticipated stretch goals to over 100 miniatures to complete the set and make this Dream a Reality.
This will include all of the Core Game characters, plus those developed post-kickstarter. We also have created a new batch of Boss Monsters to go along with Our brand new Scenario System.
